25 questions tag

I’m going old school today by participating in a so-called tag, the 25 questions tag. Earlier this week, I already spotted the list of 25 questions on the blog of Falderie and yesterday it was also posted by Josie.
Writing this has me reminiscing about the early days of blogging. Back in 2001 I had my first blog and I remember these things doing the rounds.
Anyway, it’s a nice way to learn something more about the person behind the blog and as I totally love reading these myself I thought I’d join in on the fun.

Ready, set, go!

1. Do you own pets?
My husband and I own a lovebird and two pet rabbits. Akira joined our family back in 2013, while Charlie and Lily joined us in the summer of 2014. If you’re a first time visitor, our bunnies have been featured on the blog quite a couple of times (here, here, here and here).
I also have a pet rabbit at my parents’, Joey, who didn’t move here with me. He’s almost seven years old now and has been having health scares for the past year, very much so now in the last month. I’m trying to visit him as much as I can as I fear he won’t be around for much longer.

2. Name three things that are in close proximity to you:
My A Beautiful Mess 2015 planner (which I should use way more often, it’s so pretty!), my iPhone and a photo of us on our wedding day.

3. What’s the weather like today?
Here comes the rain again.

4. Do you drive a car? Ever been in an accident?
I drive an 18 year-old Citroën Xantia and have been driving it ever since I started studying for my driver’s license.
I was in two accidents in the past three years (not on my part for the record): one with some serious damage (but fortunately the car could be fixed) and one with minor damage (for me).
Both scared me even more on the road (I don’t like driving the car) but I’ve challenged myself to become more at ease in traffic and have been pushing myself to take the car instead of the train. I’m very sorry for the environment, but sometimes I’m a bit selfish like that. I aim to start the day one day not having to worry about taking the car in the course of the day.

5. What time did you wake up this am?
7.20 am, I don’t mind getting up early at all though. Even more so, I’m most focused in the morning.

6. When was the last time you took a shower?
This morning. I like it clean and that includes my body.

7. What’s the latest movie you’ve been watching?
Birdman last week, but I was so tired I missed out on half the movie.

8. What’s in your last text message?
Something about a brewery in Belgium to a Croatian friend of mine.

9. What is your ringtone?
Just a sec, let me get my iPhone. ‘Opening’, the default iPhone ringtone. I really should get my ‘Ring, ring, hookah, ring, ring’ by Lafayette (True Blood) back as my ringtone.

10. Have you ever visited another country?
Sure have! France, the Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom, Ireland, Denmark, Switzerland, Spain, Andorra, Italy, Santorini and the USA. There’s plenty more on my bucket list though.

11. Do you like sushi?
I’d eat it, but I wouldn’t particularly order it (at home or at a restaurant). I think it is way overrated.

12. Have you ever taken any medication for sleep deprivation?
Yes, I have, but I didn’t feel comfortable with it and quit early on in the process.

13. Where do you do your grocery shopping?
My husband does our grocery shopping at Delhaize.

14. Do you have any siblings?
Yes, a brother, Ken. He’s turning 28 next month and we get along way better now than when we were young.

15. Do you have a computer or laptop?
I work on an iMac, but switch to my work laptop from time to time.

16. What will your age be on your next birthday?
33.

17. Do you wear glasses or contacts?
Both: glasses on weekdays, contacts during the weekends. I do want new frames all the time. If only I had the budget to do so.

18. Do you dye your hair?
Not yet, but will do when the need is there (if you get what I mean).

19. What are your plans today?
I had a really bad night and am feeling a bit under the weather, so I spent the majority of the day on the couch, listening to my body (which I do not often enough). I’ll probably call it an early night after squeezing in one more episode of Scandal (can I have Olivia’s wardrobe, pretty please?).

20. When did you cry for the last time?
This morning. I’ve been worried a lot about Joey lately and haven’t been feeling comfortable in my own skin. There you go.

21. What’s your favourite pizza topping?
I’m not really sure. I usually create the pizza dough from scratch and the topping is whatever we have in the house. Mostly vegetables though.
Then again… I’m thinking about that pizza I had in Alpe-d’Huez, so I’ll take their pizza with cream, potatoes, bacon and Reblochon cheese as a definite answer.

22. What do you prefer: a hamburger or cheeseburger?
Cheeseburger, although I mostly go for cheese and bacon.

23. Have you ever partied into the wee hours of the morning?
No, I haven’t. I don’t consider myself a party animal: never have and never will be.

24. What’s the colour of your eyes?
Brown eyed girl!

25. Can you tell the difference between Pepsi and Coca Cola?
I think I can, although I don’t consume that much soda anymore. I usually drink water. Just thinking about the amount of sugar in a soda can, makes me cringe.
