Yes, you heard that right. Today we’re kicking off Bruges week here on the blog with one of the newest additions to the Bruges hipster scene. Okay, I admit, hipster scene and Bruges don’t exactly go hand in hand, but we do have our fair share of cool places around Bruges and I’m here to introduce them to you.
First up is one of the newest coffee bars in town: Vero Caffè.
Chloë and Véronique are the two leading ladies at Vero Caffè. Two ladies who know a thing or two about coffee and who are not shy of baking the most delicious desserts. We joined them on a Saturday afternoon to discover this (not so hidden) gem. After all, located on the square that also hosts the Bruges chocolate museum Choco-Story it is sure bound to welcome many tourists (and locals for that matter).
On the menu are a variety of coffee specialties, tea and homemade lemonade. Next to that there’s also a daily abundance of desserts to choose from. Since we didn’t have lunch before we left that day, we made sure to savour two pieces each. Let’s say we were not disappointed. Add to that a delicious coffee blend and I’m one happy girl.
I’m really happy places like Vero Caffè have been popping up in Bruges lately. We used to drive all the way to either Ghent or Antwerp to have a decent coffee (experience) and now I can just stop by during my lunch break or we can go for a quick drive over the weekend.
Surely Vero Caffè is one of my favorites in town right now. Just look at how cozy this place is. And as a plus they have a beautiful terrace in front of their coffee shop. Perfect for those sunny fall days, isn’t it?
