I have a confession to make: I’m a magazine junkie. Back in the days, when I went to college in Ghent, I used to buy lots of them. Mind you, some newsstands had a great selection, unlike the newsstands in Bruges (where I work now).
I’d make sure to never miss out on one of the September issues, though it was nearly October when they made their way to Belgium.
Nowadays I don’t have to wait forever to get my hands on a magazine. I simply use my iPad to buy and read them. One of the best things is that they are way cheaper, I can start reading them upon their release in the US (or UK) and I’m not creating a pile of magazines around the house.
I’ve been getting some questions on Twitter where I buy them. I usually use the Zinio app, they have a great selection of magazines (including Elle, Vogue, Marie Claire, etc…). If you can’t find what you want on Zinio, I’d suggest you hit the app store and look for the magazine title you want. Many titles, such as US Vogue & Elle, Harper’s Bazaar and Vanity Fair, have their own dedicated apps or are available through the Newsstand app which comes with your iPad.
I was never much of a magazine buyer, but the September, her issues always have my attention. But they are way too expensive for me so… =/
But the iPad solution is a really really good one! =)
