I must admit: I love myself a good coffee table book (or two perhaps). I love to display them around the house, going through them at times, just looking at their beautiful covers. When reading this, I guess it will come as no surprise, that I have a penchant for TASCHEN books.
They are currently hosting their winter sales and I’m stopping by tomorrow to hopefully expand my ever-growing coffee table books collection. Since I have a keen interest in photography, I selected five items from their huge collection which I wouldn’t mind having in our home.
Kate Moss by Mario Testino
When talking fashion photographers, Mario Testino is definitely one of my favorites. Then there’s Kate Moss, who will probably be a supermodel for like forever. Combine these two and you’re bound to have one of the most beautiful fashion photography coffee table books around.
Los Angeles. Portrait of a City.
I absolutely love the Portrait of a City collection and already have the New York one at home. After visiting Los Angeles and its surrounding last June, I wouldn’t mind adding this one to my collection.
Robert Doisneau
I do have a thing for the photography style of Robert Doisneau. This work consists of no less than 400 images and is the most extensive Doisneau collection ever published. A must-have!
Willy Ronis
Parisian street photography is another favorite of mine and Willy Ronis excels at this type of photography. I first encountered his work during my photography class and have loved it ever since.
The Rolling Stones
Now, if I could really splurge on something, it would be this illustrated history of one of the world’s greatest rock ‘n’ roll bands, The Rolling Stones. Ah well, a girl can dream, right?
