First of all, welcome to Paris week! Over the next couple of days I will share some (perhaps not so) hidden secrets in Paris with you. The City of Light was my first love (when it comes to cities) and I love going back now and then. We live just a mere three hours from the French capital and I for one think we don’t take enough of advantage of this. I’m not one to make New Year’s resolutions, but I might make an exception when it comes to visiting Paris more often.
This post might have been titled let’s get lost, because that’s what you’ll certainly do when you visit Fabien Breuvart‘s Images & Portraits in Le Marais. The little store hosts thousands of old photographs, from daguerreotypes to old Poloraids dating back to the ’80s. In one word: fascinating. The shop owner, Fabien Breuvart, is both a photographer and collector. Too bad we didn’t book a portrait session in advance as I would have loved to do this.
When we stopped by in his charming store, I could not help but purchasing a small photograph featuring the Eiffel Tower. I’m sure there’s a story to it, but since all photos were taken by unknown photographers, I am forced to let my imagination run free.
