The past holiday season had kick-ass lady and entrepreneur Liesbeth organize a very cool Instagram event: the Christmas Countdown. The goal was for Belgian entrepreneurs alike to connect and be part of the coolest giveaway ever. I participated myself both as a contestant and as entrepreneur (photographer) (already looking forward to shooting newlyweds Tine and Pieter this fall).

Now, both my colleague Julie and I entered to win a make-up workshop at home by The Style Avenue‘s Jemke Dezwarte.
Guess what? We won! So it happened that one day in May, Julie came over to our house to have a bridal make-up workshop (she was married a mere two weeks later!) while I wanted to learn how to apply a wedding guest look.
Jemke arrived with tons of tools which she explained to us step by step. As it turns out, she works with an Italian brand, Nee. Honestly? I had never heard of the brand before, but have to admit: I was impressed here.
It proved to be a wonderful Saturday afternoon activity, especially for Julie who decided on her wedding make-up that day.
I myself learned to create the most beautiful smokey eye featuring both black and gold which I did not only sport at Julie’s wedding but also on a couple of recent date nights (to let you in on a secret: my husband loves a smokey eye or two).

Thank you, Jemke and Julie, for a wonderful Saturday afternoon, chatting and devouring healthy snacks while creating the most beautiful make-up looks.
If you’re having a bachelorette or just want to learn a couple of tips and tricks or you have a party to attend, you can book Jemke for a workshop or to do your make-up. For more info, visit her website The Style Avenue (she’s also an avid blogger and Instagram fan!).
Was super leuk om te doen! 🙂
