Our home for the night was Ace Hotel London Shoreditch (keep an eye out for an ace week coming up soon, including the LA and Palm Springs locations).
Since our previous trips covered a lot of places on my to-do list, I promised my husband to visit some landmarks on his bucket list, most of which I had visited during previous stays with my parents or friends.
So it happened that one Friday afternoon I found myself at Madame Tussauds of all places. I’m still convinced that this is one place you really don’t have to spend your precious London time at, but my husband thinks differently (although, he expected way more of it).
Since he had only seen Buckingham Palace in a taxi when driving by, we made a pit stop at the Queen’s residence. This is definitely a must-see and I hope to visit the palace someday (it’s only open during the summer season).
We spent our Saturday in Camden to visit the famous Camden market. It was my first time and I really liked strolling on the little bridges over the canal, but I found the market quite busy and could not help but think of it as yet another tourist attraction. Borough Market (although food only) is way more authentic in my opinion.
Of course I indulged in some Christmas shopping. Black Friday found its way to Europe and I couldn’t be more excited about it. The Christmas lights on Oxford Street and Carnaby Street were another big hit this year as well and if you’re headed for London over the next couple of weeks, don’t forget to visit Selfridges and Liberty, they are a must-see during holiday season (as is Harrods if you’re making your way up to Knightsbridge).

ik heb ooit ook eens tussauds gedaan met Tim zijn klein nichtje. die ging een kamer binnen, deed vanop een paar meter haar analyse van de kamer: check check check. en op naar de volgende kamer. wij hebben langer in de rij gestaan om binnen te geraken dan de beelden te zien! 😉

I need to move London up higher on my travel list. 😉 The exchange rate is terrible though! But I really want to see it with Rob (I visited years ago). Plus, I have to see the Harry Potter exhibits, lol!
